I imported a Maya mesh into Zbrush but forgot to import the uv information after I modified it in Zbrush, so I imported the Zbrush mesh back into maya and copied the old UV cords from the old model to the new modified model (I deleted the current UV set from the Zbrush model and copied the old uv information onto it , I got it to work for the most part…however, some of the UV information isnt updating when i edit the UV’s…I tried the other way around… to import the UV information Maya into Zbrush but it repeated the UV cords alot…any suggestions? Thanks…
Since your model originally came from Maya there’s no need to export back to Maya.
In Maya, open your original model and fix the UV’s. Export it.
In ZBrush, load your detailed model. Go to level 1. Switch to your stored morph target. (If you did not store a morph target prior to dividing, do so now.) Import the new version of the model. The UV’s will update.
Now switch morph targets and return to your higher levels to continue work.
Thanks for responding! Sorry,I was busy looking at all the hero submissions lol…Anyways that was very helpful but I figured out that I had extra uv layers (in maya) underneath that I accidentally duplicated. Its fine now though. I wanted to export it back into maya once i was done with zbrush, because Im planning using displacements for the model I’m currently working on. Still sculpting but Ill try doing the store morph target when I start getting ready to texture. Thanks for the help!
