UV seams and their adjustment

Hi There,

Been using zbrush for a few years now. I am hoping someone can answer a couple of questions that are bugging me.

  1. Whats the best way to adjust UV seam edges so I can get a continuous pattern around an irregular object. I can’t see a way to do it in Zbrush. I don’t really want to learn a whole new piece of software just for this feature. If I do need different software what’s the cheapest go to solution.

As an example snake skin round a snake model that tapers and bends.

This one is really minor but annoying.

2.Can I get my zoom+ zoom- attached to my wheel mouse. I’ve got a feeling it’s really easy but can find any info

Many thanks to all the boffins out there

Tim

Thanks I’ll give it go

Tool>UV Map>UV Map Border is the setting you want to overpaint the UV island seams/borders.

I think he’s talking about the actual UV edges not the overpaint. There are a couple ways to do this, but Zbrush is usually more of a suggestion rather than a rule when it comes to telling it where you want UV edges.

If all you need is an unwrapping tool there are a ton of free ones out there. Blender probably being the biggest name for free.

Thanks for all the advice.

Here is an image of what I mean. I want to be able to stretch and move the edge of the UV so that the alphas that I am tiling, created a seamless pattern, as you can see on the example, where the seams meet the tiled pattern does not meet seamlessly.
