UV Maps from Maya

Hi

I want to take my UV map layout from Maya and maintain it in ZBrush. I would like to see my UV layout fomr Maya as a texture so I can paint on it and then take it to photoshop for some detail and then bring it back into ZBrush. When I try this it will not hold the layout from Maya in ZBrush. I’m not sure of the steps. If some could give me a great tutorial or when bringing in the UV from Maya a step by step. Thank you for your time.

ZBrush will not change the UV mapping that’s applied to your model.

Are you remembering to flip your texture template vertically when you wrap it onto the model?

yes. I know I must flip the vertical. What texture button do I hit so that I can see the texture in ZBrush. I want to be able to see it. However, the model I brought into ZBrush is not set right. I already hit every texture button. Is there a way I can reset to the Maya layout. Thank you for your help.

Import your model and press Tool:small_orange_diamond:Texture:small_orange_diamond:UV>Txr

This will convert your current UV mapping to a texture that you can view. You will then be able to immediately know if the UV’s were exported properly from Maya.

Thank you for your reply. It was very helpful.Hope to see you in the ZBrush world later.
