Recently I was modeling an insect and needed to use surface noise with an alpha for the compound eye.
- So I used UV Master to make the UVs
- Applied the Surface Noise with “use UVs” selected
- The map was good in some places, but distorted in others due to the way UV Master flattened the map.
Fix
- So I had to use GoZ to put the eyes into 3DS Max, apply a UV modifier with Shrink Wrap selected, go back to ZBrush and it worked.
So, are there any presets in ZBrush for UV mapping like Sphere, Box, Cylinder, and Shrink Wrap? It would be nice if I didn’t have to jump back and forth just to get proper UVs.
