Hi everyone,
Is it possible to change stroke intensity and radius during a movement while you are using a mouse. I don’t have tablet and I think I couldn’t afford any for some periods of time because I’m going to buy an expensive one but I don’t have enough money yet. In this circumstances how would you change stroke intensity by a mouse? (Using Zbrush 4R8 and Lazy mouse 2.0)?
A mouse can’t be pressure sensitive, if that’s what you’re asking.
You can bring up sliders to change size and Z intensity by pressing S or U respectively, or with the right click popup, but you can’t do this during a stroke.
You mean using a pressure profile curve that gets applied along your stroke? I haven’t seen (found?) this in ZBrush yet, have been needing that feature myself quite a few times.
Curve mode sort of works of that, but is pretty unpredictable (actual length depends on step size etc)
Btw if there was a mouse with a pressure sensitive button, I would buy that in an instant
might work too, depends: try also “backtrack” + “path” options in the stroke menu with a low z intensity and then go back and forth over the stoke to increase stroke intensity
I honestly can’t remember what I was thinking of. It may have been an old 2.5d tool, or the tapering curve function. If you activate “size” in the curve modifiers, you can produce a tapering stroke for situational applications, but it’s not something you’d want to use all the time.
Really, get a tablet. It doesn’t have to be an expensive one. Even a cheap introductory tablet with any degree of pressure sensitivity to tide you over until you can get a nicer one is going to be lightyears better than using a mouse in Zbrush. Using a mouse for sculpting in Zbrush is like trying to perform surgery with a butter knife.
