Update your REALLY old pictures!

Hi!

Some of you may have had an Amiga-Computer (or an other compi) a few decades ago… (Hi Dickie and froyd!!!)

In those days “Deluxe Paint” was the most innovative program. Nowadays it´s ZBrush :)!

Perhaps you still have some pictures from this old days? Yes? Then make an experiment! What, if you would import that pictures into ZBrush and update them? I bet they will come to new honor!

Here is an example of what I mean.

OK! Now it´s your turn! Show us your old and reworked pieces of art! I am VERY curious what you have done in the past and what you can do with it!

Oh damn you brake my heart man…I did use DPaint also…but all the disks got corrupted cause of a faulty disk drive. Damn, that app was so good, I used to run it along with Newtek Digiview for some serious art :wink: It even had a “sorta-morph” near release IV. I loved that stuff. All good.
I mainly used it for small presentations that were shown at computer related forums. I worked for a brand called Everex and did presentations for them. Besides that it was really a great software to play with.

Hi Giantsun! I had DigiView too. Was a lot of fun to paint monsterheads onto portraits. When DCTV came out and 24 bit pictures could be seen on a TV at an affordable price it was like… boah… GREAT!

It´s a pity that your discs are gone forever… :frowning:

Is there any program that will allow a PC or Mac to read an Amiga disc? I have several boxes full of them.

Manfred : Yep, so much stuff forever lost…

Neilford : Dunno if thats what you want, but there is an app called Disk2FDI, they have a shareware you can try with your amiga disks on a PC, and then there is Cloanto Amiga Forever, wich emulates amiga workbench.

A standard PC drive can´t read Amiga disks. But you can transfer the content of an Amiga disk to the PC drive with a null-modem cable. Or you can write PC formated disks on the Amiga with “cross dos” (easierst possibility for pictures)…

  1. Put the Amiga disk in your Amiga.
  2. Connect Amiga and PC with a nullmodem cable.
  3. Start on each computer a data transfer program.
  4. Send your data on the Amiga disk to the PC.
    Ready.

I made a nullmodem cable from a workshop in a old Amiga magazin and transfered my whole Amiga harddisk (100 MB) to the PC. The most programs can be run by the free Amiga emulator “winUAE” on the PC. Fascinating!

nice to see some good old pics here!
unfortunately i mostly made logos and fonts…
So its hard to do remakes with ZBrush.
some of them can be seen here
Maybe i do some remakes in future…

But i still say that DeluxePaint is one of the greatest inovations in the gfx-world!

In Atari world it was the fabulous Spectrum 512 :cool: (very cool Site for nostalgia :eek: :eek: :eek:

Hi friends! Thanks for the links. Froyds fonts and logos are very good. Also his 3D pics (his plant picture is VERY good)!
Looking into the Atari world was also very interesting! Some people really did ART on that machines! :wink:
