I created a project in Keyshot from Zbrush bridge, save and close both programs. If I want to continue my model I don’t see the way to update the Keyshot project using again bridge. It simply will erase all models and import from Zbrush.
I have a project with 20 tools and I only updated one I rather avoid exporting the 20 tools and set all textures again. Any workaround?
Make invisible all the subtools you don’t want to send to Keyshot, then ZBrush will send only the visible one(s) over.
Yes, but it will erase also all objects existent in Keyshot. The only way to avoid this is the transfer is done in the same keyshot-zbrush session but I can not see how I can continue the workflow in a different session using the same projects.
I do this with Keyshot templates.
In your ZBrush tool, make sure you consistently name your subtools (no duplicate names - be careful of case and/or funny characters in subtool names)
In Keyshot, for every material you’re working on, I like to save materials to the Library (I’ve created project folders in my Keyshot materials library for this)
Create a new Keyshot template for the project.
I usually use:
Add Template - Manual > Part
For the part names, double click to edit the name, and use the wildcard asterisk before and after the subtool name:
You can drag and drop the materials from the materials palette to assign to each subtool.
I think it’s a good idea to assign the default material.
Now save the Keyshot file.
The next time you open Keyshot, load the Keyshot file
Do your editing in ZBrush and re-send your project from Zbrush to Keyshot
This will apply the ZBrush materials/polypaint
Open the Material Templates window and choose the template you created, and hit “Apply to Scene”.
As long as you don’t rename any subtools in ZBrush, it should apply the materials you assigned.
If you add new subtools to your ZBrush project, you can add them to your template and assign them materials as above, and re-apply the template to your scene.
