Hello,
I am trying to render an image with transparent hair, on an opaque body. Everywhere there is no hair, or the hair is opaque, the body is opaque, but anywhere the hair is transparent, the body is transparent, too. I’ve checked the transparency settings in Display Properties and the body is supposed to be opaque. I’ve never had this happen before and would love to know what I’m missing.
Thank you,
Amanda
Hi @Adnama
It’s impossible to tell without any screenshots what your settings are and what the problem might be. What version of ZBrush are you using? The easiest way would be if you could zip the project file and upload it here so we can have a look.
Ok, warning, adult content ahead.
I will render a partial turntable so you can see what’s going on. It’s not noticeable on a still shot.
I am using Zbrush 2022.0.8
Here are my settings:
As hair isn’t transparent, I’m not fully understanding what your end goal is here.
The changes I made were:
1: Turned off “Flatten” in “Render > Render Properties”.
2: For the body subtool (ThalloriRead), I turned on “Double” in “Display Properties”.
3: For the white hair subtools only (too lazy to do the rest :-)), in “Tool > Display Properties > BPR Settings”, I set “BPR Visibility” to 70 and “BPR Shadows” to 50.
Note: I’ll delete this image if you want me to.
Flatten? Well thank you! I think that will do it. Still a puzzling bug, but what works, works.
