Unreal 3 based game seeks zbrush modelers.

Chk out the website. We are seeking people to model, props, characters or whatnot. This is a nonpaid position since the game is free. It is something for you to build some awsome portfolio pieces in and have alot of fun too.

What are the time constraints? And what do you expect to get out of this project? Are you currently employed with a video game house?

Shouldnt be a problem do you have work i can see somewhere?

Im just doing it for fun. Its completely free and im just doing it to let me work in a new engine. Not really a big game house though we have made a interactive flash game for running scared. Im a production artist for www.heavenspot.com.

Hey, I’ve been looking to contribute in a free game project like this. Will this be licensed under GPL? (What is your free license?) I’m interested in joining in, but what kind of artwork (3D model) style are you looking for?

Not really looking for a style but just very realistic characters. I need someone who knows how to work with normal maps in zbrush. and its something that you cant make the high poly model and then export after your done. I think you have to go about creating a morph target to the high poly one from your lowest sub-divisional level and then export as a normal map. If you know the zmapper plugin then your fine. Other than the fact that you will be required to be capable of creating very realistic character meshes.

I’ve been using zmapper on almost all of my models. Although in my workflow I only need to use the maya mental ray configuration. (and thus practically never touched other settings)

When you say creating a morph target to a higher poly one. Do you mean making dispmaps? Or subdiv cage? Because I’m not sure if you can make morph target with meshes of different resolution. Although I do use morph targets mainly for zSphere meshes and sometimes when combining two different looking creatures. The two creatures mesh topology must be the same.

And for realism, I’m not sure if we’re at that level where realism looks very realistic on game models. Check the rainbow six vegas thread on this forum. That is probably the maximum realism you can get. (but of course, they got professional crew, support and so on)

Well I am interested too.

Though it is not that much detailed but I have the visulaization to create some very high detailed characters as well as architecture.

I live in India, if thats not a problem and If I am not designing my comics, I can give your game rest of my time.

I am more interested in working for a game as for that only I came in this industry.

That doesnt sound good to me.

I think before any of us actually join you, you need to sort out the trouble with these people, or simply change few things which doenst make your mod similar to them.

That will save all of us a lot of headache later

I concur with wckedsunny. I think you gotta sort the issue out first before I want to join in. Getting tangled into a gamers war is not fun.

Granted, the unreal engine looks very impressive. And I think there’s a lot of members here who could build such detailed normal maps. I hope you can get your project off the ground.

I already sorted it out and proved to him my idea was in the making before he thought it up so you dont have to worry.
