I made an IMM curve brush for a rubber hose. One as low res version, and a copy as high res version by subdividing it. The high res brush however does not act as expected, the resulting pipe is way bigger and, more problematic, way too dense ( Maybe too many brush samples ? ).
Both brushes have been unified and checked for mesh integrity. Both brushes use the same stroke and brush settings. How can I fix this ?
Hi @zzeebee ,
I can’t immediately reproduce your problem, however I think maybe I can spot the issue.
It looks like you are attempting to create a tri part brush? That looks like the behavior on display with the low res version. If this is the case, Tri-part brushes have very specific rules for their construction involving exactly three and only three polygroups, representing two end caps and a repeating interior section.
From what I can see here your low res brush looks correct, but the higher res brush appears to have more than three polygroups. The plane on the very top appears to be a different polygroup than the rest of the end cap.

If that doesn’t help you sort out the problem please contact ZBrush support to make a ticket and submit the brush for examination.
Thank you!
Hi Spyndel,
You nailed it, a polygroup somehow sneaked in , should have have catched that myself. Many thanks !
