Undo history not persisting past 10 undos

Since a few days ago zbrush started warning me that it will delete undo history.

I have plenty of hard drive space(100s of GB) I have 32G of RAM. I have been playing with undo settings since and have tried everything. My undo history is set to 10000! Max undo size is set to 25G, I’ve tried “warm me when deleting” setting it to 10 and then 2000, enable saving is on. optimize is on and reserved undo memory is set to 2.5. There is no help docs for “reserved undo memory” when you click control. though it is still deleting all undos past 8 or so.

This has plagued my modelling where I find myself with a few very important undos being deleted which gfive me no choice but to close and not save my work and start again.

Any idea what is going on?

Is this in ZBrush 2018 or an earlier version?

Sorry this is Zbrush 2018. what does ?nm mean??

It has stopped now. I have put “warm me when deleting” and now it is ok.

I still don’t understand why it started. and what caused it when I have so much spare memory?

Another thing I don’t understand is the documentation for “warm me when deleting”

the “warn when deleting” slider will set the number of undos that a warning appears if an action is done that will delete the set number or higher

Is this even English??
