Undo Commando question

(I hope this is the right forum for this question…)
Hello,

I would like to rebind “Undo/ Redo”, but I noticed that I can’t simply ctrl+alt click on each button and rebind, because every time I take an action, the button “changes”. So, I sculpt on my model. It says “Edit->Tool-> Undo 30”
for example. I rebind it (ctrl+alt+click).
I try the shortcut, and it works, but the button is now labled “Undo 29” and the valid shortcut is no longer working. And I don’t think I can apply the same shortcut to every step of “Undo” because it can only be assigned to one button at a time.

Is it impossible to re-assign the shortcut for redo / undo?
Or am I missing anything obvious?

Sadly though, when I added those lines to my startup hotkeys (with my prefered shortcut instead) it didn’t work.

Your link doesn’t work for me so I’m not sure which method you are trying. Did you edit the StartupHotkeys.txt something like this:

[EDIT:UNDO,634]
[EDIT:TOOL:UNDO,634]
[EDIT:REDO,890]
[EDIT:TOOL:REDO,890]

If this doesn’t work for you then I don’t have any other suggestions I’m afraid.

If the link was working, it would lead to a thread in which you suggested the same. I tried it again, but sadly to no avail.
