Unable to retopologize masked area only

Hey guys, I’m trying to retopolize a select area of a model using Zremesher. I want the polycount to be the same so I used the SAME option when retopologizing. The problem is even with the area masked and the rest of the model hidden, Zbrush always remeshes the entire model (even though it is masked, hidden and not visible) I am using the tutorial below and cannot figure out what I’m doing wrong. Any help would be greatly appreciated thank you.

Hide instead masking

Yes, I masked the area then hid it using Visibility>HidePt.

Is this what you meant or is there another way to hide?

From I can see mask doesn’t work (masking using ctrl) but hide yes (using ctrl+shift) as shown in my test. If I mask and then hide unmasked also works. I don’t know why it doesn’t work in your case. Have you tried with a clean example? Activating the same options makes no difference, always works.

Both methods lead to the entire model being remeshed. I have tried on a new model with the same results.

Masking (ctrl) and hiding (visibility>hidePt) then remeshing = Hidden parts of model become visible are are remeshed
Just hiding (ctrl+shift) the remeshing = Hidden parts of model become visible are are remeshed

Can you tell me what your zremesher settings are?

[FIXED]
Initializing ZBrush fixed the problem, my mistake for not trying this sooner I forgot it was there. Still no idea what caused it but oh well.
