Two New ZBrush FormaCD's!

Good evening, Happy Holidays.

Here are two new ZBrush training CD's. They were translated from the already available French FormaCD's (The collection has begun five years ago). In France, they are seen by most as THE reference for the ZBrush training.

These FormaCD's consist in professional -35 hours- training courses which have been converted to autonomous CD-ROM's. They are completely different from traditional trainings insofar as they contain the whole educational process of real training courses: sessions, Multiple Choice Questions and practical exercises. But as the teacher is not supplied with the CD, the course has been extended in order to provide answers to all the users' questions.

You start from the first time you launch ZBrush, and the course carries on with you until you completely master the software.
This training starts at the beginner’s level, yet it goes very far and provides you with an in-depth knowledge of ZBrush.

The aim of each FormaCD is not only to enable you to master all the different subjects of the course, but most of all to help you make the most of them and carry out your own projects.

The information about the ZBrush 3 dedicated CD:

You can download a sample video for PC or Mac.

We also make the ZBrush 2 CD available, for those who have not updated to ZBrush 3 :

Because of our French accent we have chosen to use a voice synthesis. This is part of our effort to improve your experience when listening to the course.

Each volume only costs 25€ per download (35 US$ ~).

The amount of information contained within these CD's is huge in comparison to their low price. French ZBrush users have already made good use of them. Their author, Alexis Flamand, knows everything related to ZBrush and more. He's one of the big shots of the ZBrush.fr community, and is considered as the best French trainer.

Another training about the workflow between ZBrush and the other 3D softwares is about to be completed. It will be available at the beginning of 2009.

 Merry Christmas

I would like to give my feedback about these CDs. Even if I’m a Pixologic employee, I learn a lot from them and times to times, I pick them again to remember me some specific features that I didn’t use for a while.

This training is more a user guide for ZBrush, almost all features are covered. It’s far different from Gnomon / Digital Tutors / Kurv (etc) and it’s a very good addition to these training (and not a competitor).

For me, the FormaCD courses are to learn the ZBrush feature, and other training, how to combine these features to create my art.

The only thing that I can’t critic is the quality of the english voice as I’m not a native english speaker.

As pulp said, this training is a big success here in france and in 35hours, you lear a tons of stuff!

Enjoy!

I’ve downloaded a demo movie. The english voice is a computer voice and not very pleasant to listen to… On the other hand, all spoken words are also in text on the screen, so what’s been said can be read as well. I would say, turn off the sound and just read. The price seems very acceptable. I cannot comment on the total training, just orientating…

Danny R, thanks for testing the demo. For the moment, we have chosen to use a computer voice for economic reasons. This explain why the price is quite low for a training which covers so many features. Like you said everything that is spoken is displayed on the screen thanks to some bubbles. You can turn the sound off if you don’t like it, and you won’t loose any information.
