TUTORIAL: Haciendo una ilustración con ZBrush

El pasado 15 de noviembre di un taller en la Universidad de Oviedo sobre como hacer una ilustración utilizando únicamente ZBrush. Este es un tutorial con todos los pasos necesarios para crearla.

Espero que os sea útil.

TERRENO

-Tool>Plane eD>Make Polimesh 3D.
-Situar Make Polimesh en el canvas.
-Pulsar Edit.
-Texture>4096x4096>New.
-Tool>Texture>GUVTiles.
-Subdividir 6 veces.
-Tool>Display Properties>Double.
-Entrar em Projection Master y marcar: Colors, Fade, Deformation y Normalized. Pulsar Drop Now.
-Modelar y pintar con Directional Brush y el stroke Drag Rect, utilizando los alphas 7, 8, 15, 22 y 25.
-Salir de Projection Master.
-Rotar y acercar el terreno.
-Entrar de nuevo en Projection Master para aplicar más detalles.
-Salir de Projection Master y situar el terreno en el canvas, en la posición final.
-Duplicar terreno, rotar y alejar para crear distancia.
-Salvar el terreno.
-Salvar el documento.

Esto es lo que he conseguido en una tarde. El tutorial, rápido, sencillo y muy bien explicado.:slight_smile: Quizás debería de haber cuidado más los detalles del cielo y haberlo trabajado más. ¿A ti qué te parece?

Una tarde, eso es lo que utilizamos en el taller para hacer la ilustración. Puedes trabajarla más o hacer otra. Los pasos ya los conoces.

TUTORIAL: Making an illustration with ZBrush

The past 15 of November I gave a lecture in the University of Oviedo on creating an illustration using ZBrush solely. This is a tutorial with all the steps necessary to create it.

I hope that it is to you useful.

LAND

  • Tool>Plane eD>Make Polimesh 3D.
  • Locate Make Polimesh in canvas.
  • Press Edit.
  • Texture>4096x4096>New.
  • Tool>Texture>GUVTiles.
  • subdivide 6 times.
  • Tool>Display Properties>Double.
  • Enter command post Projection Masters and mark: Colors, Fade, Deformation and Normalized. Press Drop Now.
  • Model and paint with Directional Brush and stroke Drag Rect, being used alphas 7, 8, 15, 22 and 25.
  • Leave Projection Masters.
  • Rotate and to approach the land.
  • Enter Projection Masters to apply more details again.
  • Leave Projection Masters and locate the land in canvas, the final position.
  • Duplicate land, rotate and move away to create distance.
  • Save the land.
  • Save the document.


SKY

  • Layer>Create.
  • Tool>Plane eD>Make Polimesh 3D.
  • Locate in canvas, climb and move away until it occupies all layer and have left the bottom.
  • Apply to the Flat material Color and paint, using very low
    values, with Directional Brush, stroke Drag Rect and alphas 01, 22 and 34, the 54 for clouds.
  • Save the document.

MOUNTAINS

  • Layer>Create.

  • Tool>Sphere 3D>Make Polimesh 3D.

  • Locate Make Polimesh in canvas.

  • Press Edit.

  • Choose color. Texture>4096x4096>New.

  • Subdivide 3 times.

  • Deform with Move and stretch the Sphere with
    Tool>Deformation>Sice in the direction and.

  • Enter command post Projection Masters and mark: Colors, Fade, Deformation and Normalized. Press Drop Now.

  • Model and paint with Directional Brush and stroke Drag Rect, being used alphas 7, 8, 15, 22 and 25.

  • Leave Projection Masters.

  • Pressing Ctrol. to paint like mask some points in the superior part.

  • Tool>Masking>Invert.

  • Throw of the points with Move.

  • Locate in canvas, duplicate and move away.

  • Save the mountain.

  • Save the document.

SHIPS

  • Layer>Create.
  • Tool>ZSphere
  • Locate ZSphere in canvas.
  • Press Edit.
  • Transform>X Symmetry.
  • Add Zspheres until giving form to the ship.
  • Add for the tail some ghost ZSpheres.
  • Tool>Adaptive Skin>Density 6.
  • In Texture to apply Txtr13.
  • Tool>Masking>Int.
  • Put Texture in Off.
  • Tool>Deformation>Inflate positive value.
  • Tool>Masking>Clear.
  • In Texture apply Txtr32.
  • Tool>Masking>Int.
  • Put Texture in Off.
  • Tool>Deformation>Inflate negative value.
  • Tool>Masking>Clear.
  • Deform the ship with Scale and Move.
  • Apply the ReflectMap Material and choose a color.
  • Save the ship.
  • Place the ship in canvas, duplicate and move away.
  • Paint details in the ships with alphas 10, 11, 17, 29 and 33.
  • Save the document.

    ILLUMINATION And RENDER
  • Press AAHalf to smooth the image.
  • Activate Light>Sadow>ZMode. Light>Shadow>Intensity 100, Rays 50, Aperture 50.
  • In the Render menu, mark Shadows, Depth Cue and Flatten. Press Best.
  • Save the document.
  • the document must have 4 layers.
