TUTORIAL DVD's - 'Hidden Files'

Hi.

I’ve a number of tutorial DVD’s from a variety of sources (such as Gnomon) and sometimes I’m unable to navigate to the disc and select individual lessons because they don’t show up. I’m told there is a Windows Setting that corrects this, something like “show hidden files in insert operating system”.

Does anyone know where to set Windows so it shows hidden files?

Thanks!

If using Windows Explorer, on top menu bar select:

Tools->Folder Options->View tab

Then select under “Hidden Files and Folders” section the “Show Hidden Files and Folders” option.

Hope this helps…MG

Hey Guys,

Yeah, I frequently watch DVDs through this method so I can watch them at 1.5X normal speed. I find my brain retains info better if it has to strive to catch up.

I would like to interject a personal note, though. The reason the files are hidden is due to piracy. Right now, the ratio of stolen copies of my own DVD, not to mention the hundreds of other artists, to purchased copies is pretty unbelievable. Staggering really.

I came to terms with that as a single man with few major responsibilities. However, now that I am married and we are looking at having children I can’t help but think about it.

That said, I will continue to work hard to promote education and share as much as I can with our community because I feel it is important to work hard to create the world you want to live in.

If my work and the work of other artists is helpful then I only ask that we keep in mind what kind of world we create by pirating educational material.

Remember to feed the artists. They like it.

Hi.

Thanks for all the response. I’m running a Vista 64-bit system and there is no ‘Tools’ dop-down in Explorer. I have attached an image. Any idea where I can adjust this setting? ‘Show Hidden Files’?
