TurnTable rotation problem

Hi,

Ive got an issue where I have a torus object thats broken into many different pieces and, although the center of each subtool is the center of the object as a whole in Maya, it spins off axis when turntableing it in ZBrush.

I cant center pivot each object otherwise all of the pieces of the torus jumble up together in the center. Ive tried setting pivots and TVEYES Morph trick, but nothing seems to want to allow it to spin on it center.

Any ideas?

You could use Transpose Master to change the pivot point position. You’ll be able to test the rotation with the TPose mesh before transferring it to the subtools.

EDIT: The simplest way to work is:

  1. Create the TPose mesh.

  2. With the TPose mesh selected, switch off Edit and switch on Rotate, so that the gyro appears. This will show you the center of rotation.

  3. Use the Tool: Deformation:Offset slider to change the position of the pivot.

  4. When happy switch Edit back on and transfer the change back to the subtools by pressing TPose>SubT button.

This is fantastic, you have found a perfect solution. Thank to you Marcus, and Ryan for making this plugin…

The bad news is unfortunatly as soon as I go to export the movie ZB crashes everytime, which I think is no fault of the plugin, but something to do with the ztools. Very frustrating.

I had not known of this plug in. So Im glad I got something from this, I’ll be using this a lot.

Cheers

Hmm, cant export any movie… could be time to re-install ZBrush

Marcus, thanks for your reply on centering the pivot. Solved a long time problem for me as well. Cheers.
