Trouble with mesh extraction

I have a poser head that I made a polymesh then masked then extracted. I saved the extracted mesh as its own ztl. The problem is that I would like to extract it again in order to soften the sculpt. Think white plastic robot face shell. At this point I could have just used another sculpt (and I may still) but a curious thing happened. When Trying to do the second mesh extraction…well it wouldn’t let me!? What are your thoughts?

“It wouldn’t let me” doesn’t really help. What error message did you receive, or what were the exact steps you were following?

Once again sorry aurick for the non informative questions. I hope your not too upset.

In this instance I could have probably elaborated slightly more but I’m not too sure how much.

I had a poser.obj of a head I tweaked in poser. Imported into zbrush. This model had too much detail for what I wanted so I made it a polymesh 3d in the tools pallette while it was in edit mode. I divided it 3 times. I masked it all and performed a mesh extraction which worked fine. I deleted the subtool that was the original since the new subtool gave me what I wanted. But, I wanted to divided it into two halves; A back and a front. I took the model into projection master in order to get a good crisp line. Went into the tool pallette again and masked the ztl. by intensity. I was able to see the mask gray out the other parts of the window but not the tool since the mesh was painted as well with projection master. When I tried to extract the masked section… Nothing happened. No window, no warning, no beep, no nothing. I cleared the mask. Masked with the draw tool onto a surface that I could see the mask applied to and attempted the extraction once again. The same result no extraction.

At that point i wrote to zbrush central and just started sculpting an another part of the piece and left it for later.

I hope that helps.
