Tripod Reloaded - Muscle & Anatomy WIP

Hi everyone,

Just thought you would like to see the Tripod - Muscle and Anatomy WIP. I am using various anatomy references mainly gray’s and human anatomy atlas as guidelines, so that I accomplish a more realistic feel. Being a tripod, (triped) it is quite hard to figure out muscle and bone and so, I am using cross references of human and bird muscles and bones.

As for the skin, it being stretch over the muscle and bone with no fats and my intention is to create an alien amphibian type of character, I will be using vaired toad and reptail reference images so that I could obtain the final result as realistic as could be.

I would like to recieve your comments.

Very nice… if not a tad creepy. I am certainly getting an Alien Amphibian feel from it. I can see it walking through a marshy swampland stalking its prey

try starting by doing the bones, then leyer up the muscles from one bone to another, on the side in witch its suposed to bend, and for the place where legs and torso join, use an animal or a bug reference ;] I think it will be easier than figuring out a whole anatomy for him ;]

Thanks Slocik for your comment. Infact that is what I did and added muscle mass and tendons after. I will be posting more WIP images with better detail and texture ideas.

Hi Guys,

I am posting some images of the texturing work currently in progress, basically I am at the moment cleaning some PM artifacts.

I would like to see your views and crits.

Thanks

Hi again,

I have attached an image of the Tripod which shows the latest version vs. the first working version.

One can notice immediately the major changes in this creature’s anatomy and textures, whereby a more meaner look is being accomplished even with a lighter texture.

I would like to hear your comments suggestions and crits.
