Trevor browns two headed deer WIP (first time user)

I’ve used zbrush 2 to make a face and mess around, and then I recently just got back into zbrush and I’m working on this two headed deer that trevor brown painted. Although I’d like to make it look a bit more realistic compaired to the original illustration. Here are a few screen shots of the work so far.

I'm new to the community and I'm working more with 3D, I'm about to apply for animationmentor.com and try and get into the school this fall. I've always wanted to be an animator, although I figure it won't hurt to work on my modeling/lighting/and mainly rigging skills. So that's what I'm going to attempt with this deer. (mainly modeling/texture at this point) I'd love to animate it eventually. And give them multiple personailtys to practice with my acting skills. Any tips or tutuorials for certain things will be great! Painting by trevor brown. The rotation on the nose from the zspheres has been annoying to straighten out by hand. I know there a short cuts but don't know what I'm looking for to deal with them. I've modeled it all with the mousepad on my laptop, using the move brush. I have a tablet but I'd rather use my fingers then the pen. I have a past of doing realistic sculpture with clay/wood/stone which is another reason I want to learn how to model, and it's the main reason that I've tired zbrush first before attempting to learn maya. Once I build a few models in zbrush I think I'll be ready to learn maya and get used to it's workflow.

I’m thinking about restarting but if it’ll be faster to just edit this then that would be great!

Yeah i hate zspheres. They hardly ever do what i want them to do. For correcting the curve on the nose you can press W E or R and then hold down control to mask off an area, now you can move or rotate what hasnt been masked with the W E or R buttons selected. That would be the easiest for big alterations then you can go in there and do the fine tuning.

In regards to learning Zbrush before Maya for familiarity, Maya is completely different program with little to no reference to Zbrush besides the W E or R buttons lol. So learn it when ever you want.

Your best bet is to go to ZClassroom and you will find all the information you need for basic learning. ZSpheres just give you a basic shape to start from. How to add eyes and so forth are covered in the basic tutorials and the help files for ZBrush are excellent.
