Tree Texturing

Hello guys,

I am student in VFX, and really new to zbrush .I have to sculpt properly a realistic tree. Ok. Done. But now I have to texture it. I tried spotlight and all went fine.
But when I export it to maya, it’s kinda…awful. Really doesn t look like my result in zbrush. The textures are very blur.
I really don t know why: UV’S, rendering workflow, exporting Zb to maya workflow, shading, really didn t find the problem.

Second prob, when I want to import my obj to maya, it s always says :" error reading file" or " error line xxxxx index for face creation "…

Save me guys :frowning:

Some pictures would be helpful here.

How did you model the tree? What size are your textures and maps? How are you trying to export to Maya?

Ok guys, thanks for your answers.

I model it from a recap (real capture) (directly made a dynamesh on it) and my textures map is in 8K
But when I look the map (view button on maya) as you can see on the ScreenMapPhotoshop, it s kinda creepy…

ZPlugins:AutoUpdate. You’re a bit behind the times  What will it be used for? Rendering out to a larger image might give different results as well. Have you tried to render it in ZBrush with BPR?

It’s for a movie, that we have to do in our last year… so it has to be perfect.
And the image should be very close…
Ok zbrush is auto updating now:D
I didn t try BPR but we all render in maya, if I don t follow the workflow I am not sure that the professors will agree

960x540 render size won’t give amazing results. What size did you output the textures from ZBrush?

4k maps…
