Transpose master - rigging - binding issue

Hi there,

I just tried different things and the problem is driving me nuts. So I open up a new thread here and hope someone can help.

1st scenario

  • I’ve got a model with subtools
  • I use TPose Master - ZSphere Rig - build up the rig

Then I hit BIND MESH and try to move the RIG - then it goes like this:

Some rotation later:

One thing that happens is now after finishing the transpose: Some or all Subtools stay where they have been - or - part of the mesh stays where it has been and causes stretched polygons.

2nd scenario: One model - no subtools (merged model)

I hit APPEND in SUBTOOL - add a ZSPHERE and start another RIG - then I hit BIND MESH and try to rotate or move the rig…
Same thing happens as shown on the images above.

Does anyone know what is wrong? Is it a bug in R2b?

Any help would be nice!

How many polygons does the combined mesh (TPoseMesh) have? The most likely explanation is that there are too many polygons for a ZSphere rig.

The regular model - which is a dynamesh - had around 2 Million Polygons - but I also tried it with a decimated version which had 300K Polys - same thing appeared.
I guess I still do something wrong - will try out again tomorrow and check if anything is masked or to high in polys.

thanks so far for your reply!

Did you get this working? I am having a similar issue.

For now it seems that it’s a problem with DYNAMESH and high polycount - I still have to test it out with r3 now and see if it’ll work.

I have the same issue in 4r3. I think it may be a timing issue. Like the higher poly subtools are taking longer then the slotted time to process.

I mean could it be a timing issue. We had an issue like that with a web app once. It tried to go to the next step before the data finished processing. Just a thought.

Zbrush and transpose master at times doesn’t play well with models who’s base level of subdivision has a high level of triangles. Where this threshold is I’m not sure. Some tris seem to work ok. A lot causes errors. There is an update for transpose master coming soon that improves this but high levels of triangles will still cause errors. I got mine to work by deleting the base subdivision level. (Because once you subdivide, triangles are converted to 4 sided polys).
