Tought Alien

hi guys, this is my last character that i was working this last days, rendered with mental ray. finalmitchell6+occl1200.jpg

A good model, I like both the sculpt and the texture, as well as the expression on his face which has a good amount of character.
The only slight problem I have with the model concerns the eyes.
It doesnt seem like the flesh of the eyelids wrap close enough to the eyeballs, so they look like they’re pushed too far into the head. It makes the eyelids look too thin, and you see it clearly since the eyelids seems to throw a shadow onto the eyeballs. The same goes for the outer corner of the eye, where there’s an empty space from the actual eyelid to the eyeball.

Other than that, its looking good:)

but like others have said, scoot those eyelids in, and make some asemetrical variation on they wrinkles. good job!

for the eyes a wanted to make in the iris the reflection of the hdri image, but looks to much!!! iìll fix it and the symmetry too!

Beautiful colour, texture, sculpt and render. Asymmetry is definitely a must.

hi guys, here my setutp and materials…
i used the sss miss_fast_skin material of mental ray, the main texture was painted from zbrush and was mapped in maya as overall color, plus one base skin textures that i mapped on the subdermal scatter color.
For the lighting i used an hdri image as enviroment (the one that you can see on the eye reflectivety!),2 spot lights ( one in the back for the scatter effect), one in the front and one above to simulate the sun.Then i have imported the normal map from zbrush ( i diden’t used the displacement map because it would take 3 times longer to render).
Then i used the micthell filter size 6/6 for the final render in mental ray.
