totally lost.

Hi eweryone, i must have help, i have downloaded the new 3,1 uppgrade
and i can not install the new version.
Now i have two computers, one that i have 3D program on, the other
is a laptop, for surfing on the internet.
The 3D computer is not connected to the internet, and its newly formatted,
so i have reinstalled al my program’s, and i have worked with it fore aboute
a month (ZBrush, Cinema 4d, adobe production studio,etc,etc).
Now when downloading the ZBrush 3,1 uppdate,(downloaded on the laptop
and moved whith usb pen device, to the other computer), the 3D computer
say’s "an error occurred while downloading the file http://www.installengine.com/msiengine30/windowsinstaller-kb893803-x86.exe.".

Now i dont now what’s wrong, it did not say anything when i did
exactly the same procedure, when installing ZBrush 3,0.
I now it’s not an ZBrush issue, but can anyone help,
i have moved the file both zipped and unzipped, same thing.
I am totally lost, and help would be nice, Thank’s

hmmm…try to dl the 3.1 patch again…you might have corrupted your update files possibly…if you have probs with that, then my other advice would be to email [email protected]

Hi Ron, thank’s for replying, i have downloaded the 3,1 version
four times, so it can not be someting going wrong each time,
maby pixologic can help.

Sometimes, specially the cheap ones, memory sticks do not have the capacity stamped/labeled onto them. Even the OS might report the ‘propper’ size, it does not mean that the stick can actually hold the amount. In reality the last memory cell is overwritten continuously till the write process is finished. Friggin scam… Maybe the file size of the upgrade is maxing your stick out. To figure out if that might be the culprit, split the archive into two, or burn a cd/dvd instead.

Hi lemonnado, thank’s for replying, i did not get your answer,
do you mean the laptop or the big 3D computer ?
It’s the big one thats give me the answer, i have 2 gig’s one that,
so it can’t be that,( least i think ?)

I am referring to the memory stick you use to transfer the files.

Hi,
You might like to try this link to microsoft http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=889482FC-5F56-4A38-B838-DE776FD4138C&displaylang=en
for the windows installer. If this does not work do a search on the internet using the string windowsinstaller-kb893803-x86.exe.". I hope this may help.

I had the exact same problem. My CG box is always off line…Always. I went to install the patch as you did and got the same error.

All I did to fix this issue was to paste the file .exe link you posted into my browser (on my web box) and clicked Enter.

This should ask you to save a file to whatever drive you like. I chose my jumpdrive :wink: Then just install the MS .exe file you get than launch the ZB patch installer. Hope that helps

Hi, thanks for all replyes, i have not been in here for a while,
i contacted the “pixgang” and they sent me a link to a windws uppdate,
same as yours, and that solved the problem.
