Toad Captain

Hello all,

This is my first sculpt in Z brush. He is the main character in a story I wrote. He is a late 17th century nobleman/privateer. This is his character before his fall…

I took me a while to complete because I was learning the program as I went. This forum was HUGE in the process. I want to thank all of the people here.

Crits and comments welcome.

Thanks a lot!

This is sooo cool and it kinda creeps me out!!I love the design, fabric, sock’s shoe’s…AWESOME!! A+++

This is a really, really superb start… Welcome to ZBrush

There really isn’t much to crit here, the guy has real life and personality thanks to a strong pose. There are some lovely details such as the shoes and the frilly scarf around his neck, plus the anatomy really works well. You can really see a convincing form under there.

If I had to nitpick I’d say the surface detail on his face looks a little random, could be stronger, but that’s me really going out of my way to find fault

4/5 Keep it up, I Look forward to seeing more, I’m positive you’ll be improving in leaps and bounds.

It’s a work of love, and it shows, fantastic stuff. I love those details that you placed throughout his clothes. It’s fun and he’s got of attitude, splendid work really. And your first character! Your story starts with a firework.

thanks so much for all of your comments, it means a lot.

cool character  my only crit is the detailing seems too symmetrical at the front.

Yeah i fsort of overlooked the symmetry of the details on the face. I meant to go over it and make it more asym. but I forgot to. Guess I was really itchin’ to get it finished.
