I think it’s probably the fact that the meshes you are creating the alpha’s from have thickness. If you created the seams and stitches on a plane, you wouldn’t have the problem. Try removing the sides and bottoms from the meshes so they don’t have any thickness. That would leave your seam and stitch on a plane

I don’t exactly know how you are creating the alpha’s from your seam meshes. The best way would be to use “From Mesh” button in the Alpha palette once they are on a plane with no thickness.
