ZBrushCentral

Thinking about buying new pc :)

And I was wondering if this would be a good setup to run Z-Brush… Im also not sure if the video card has allot of influence on performance / rendering… or if that is mainly done by the processor…

I also want to run Maya on this, perhaps anybody knows what is best better processor or videocard? I don’t play many games on it

Also thinking about later (when i have got some money again :p) upgrading later to 4 GB Ram.

This is the setup I was thinking of ordering:
2x Corsair CM 72SD1024RLP-3200/M 1024 MB, PC3200, 400 MHz
Maxtor DiamondMax 10 250 GB, 7200 Rpm, 16 MB, Serial ATA/150 MSI K8N Neo4 Platinum
Logitech MX 510 Optical Mouse Retail
AMD Athlon 64 3500+ 2.2 GHz, 2000 MHz, Boxed
Samsung 913N Silver 19 inch TFT
Asus EAX700 Pro /TVD 256 MB
Antec SmartPower 350 Watt

What do you think? Would you go with similair setup or choose anything else, perhaps Geforce ? i dont know which videocard are the best at the moment.

…a little graphic palette
Without you can’t make crazzy thing !
In Zbrush it’s indispensable for refine a mesh
And don’t forget : power technic is not indispensable just talent
Pilou

Get a system with 450+ watts. ZBrush runs off the processor(s) no super graphic card needed for that, but… Maya has some specific issues currently with ATI Fire GL cards, but take a look at the hardware comparisson chart on www.alias.com it should give you an idea of whats out there. Alot of these high-end graphic cards need lots of power to run…so for the extra 50$$ bucks it might be worth it. Are you building it yourself, or are you going through a vendor? Corsair memory is nice…I have some as well.

:DNo I haven’t its the first thing I bought after using Zbrush once with a mouse… hehe that sucked

Thx for the tip on PSU will make that a bit higher its not that expensive, will check out the Alias site
