Thick white border around Zbrush window

Hi guys, as I am down to 1 monitor and no longer able to use zbrush in maximised mode, I have to resize it accordingly to capitalise on screen space (for ref images etc.), however i’m greeted with a nasty thick white border all around zbrush. It’s VERY distracting, any idea how I can resolve this?

Thanks guys.

Close a tray on one side?

I believe Zbrush always has this issue. A couple of things you can do to help with that. Spotlight for Reference is a life saver for starters. You can also use any of the multitude of programs that allow you to keep a window on top and transparent, even be able to click through it. I highly recommend using spotlight as you can turn your reference on an off with a quick keystroke or set up a button if you prefer, you can vary the opacity, color pick from it, etc. Just make sure you turn off spotlight projection in your brush settings.

My two cents.

I get that border too, but personaly I like it because it’s easier to grab an edge and drag the window out to size.

Er, are you being sarcastic? I’m just showing the problem, i usually do have a sidebar closed…

Oh, thats disappointing :confused: I thought it was a setting problem on my end. If I could darken it, it would be way better, but this really sucks in a low light/low contrast environment, having white borders like this (i do most of my sculpting in the evening with the lamp on!)

I wasn’t being sarcastic…
How large is your monitor?
Have you tried See through?

You may be able to change the color using the Windows Control Panel> Personlization> Customize Colors or Window Color & Appearance. (This works in Vista.)

@marcus_civis

Sadly, Zbrush is the only program that refuses to change it’s border colour, even with third party “Aero tuners”.
I guess I can live with it, hopefully it’s fixed in Win 10 :stuck_out_tongue:

edit: found a compromise (for anyone searching), a regedit to reduce border size, still white but less pronounced
