I just finished with a new image. I decided to try my first female model. Took a couple days to get the head right after doing a couple of pictures of old men
Very pretty Tami!
Glad to see somebody else doing female characters on here…
Love the little glowing deals floating around here, as well as the delicate hues you used.
nice one!
ah, soooo beautiful… i love the transparent look of the elf (no, not her clothes ;)) and the mysterious aura of the wood. the way you did the tree-bark is excellent - any hints? very nice details in abundance - superb

The woods are both lovely and mysterious. You’ve done a lot of great modeling here. My favorite part, though, is the magical lights. Really nice!
what a wonderful and magicial picture. you go girl…
Hi Tami . . .
Well, here’s another one of your fine works of art. I like the elf & I’d sure like some pointers on the tree bark & the leaves also, if you have the time? I really like the “fairy dust” too, it sets the image just right!
All in all, a great image as usual! Have a good one . . . Mark.
Tami, this image is truly lyrical. sheer bloody poetry! great modelling and sense of composition, in my opinion.
how many glow materials did you use? just a thought.

How magical! She looks like she is having a wonderful time. I love this
Truly masterful–I’d expect to see this in a fine art gallery or museum !!!
Thank you all for your kind words. This was definately my most detailed image so far. I’m glad the details worked well together.
The tree bark was actually pretty easy to do. I made a cylinder and tapered it. Then deformed it a touch. Then I masked it in a striated pattern, kind of like bark and inflated.
The leaves were created of a plain 3d. I masked out the shape of a leaf and hid the points. Then painted on a bit of detail. To place them I used snapshot, then rotate, size and move to scatter them about.
I only used two glow materials in the image. One was for the sparkles, and was pretty much the standard glow material. The second was for the elf herself. I used a light glow, and transparency. I was disappointed that she lost so much detail this way, but I liked the translucent effect better in the overall image.
I layed out the tree branches, and created the rocks based on aurick’s green thumb tutorial . Then used the snake hook brush on the trees a bit. Thanks for the great script.
Thanks again everyone.
