THE PLAIN JANE CHALLENGE

This will be the beginning of many challenges, so hence; this is “The Plain Jane Challenge #1”.

The basic idea of these challenges will be to provide a model of the requested/nominated topic, in basic form…NO COLOURS.
Sometimes, I find, and I’m sure many others find that colour can sometime deminish a model of it’s looks and quality. So keeping it basic will be necessary for all these challenges.

Different shaders will be allowed, as well as materials.

To the challenge…
SPACE!
I’m sure you have wondered many times about visitors arriving from outerspace, finally landing on our planet.
Will they bring fear and hatered, or will they bring peace a long with means of getting to know what us earthlings are all about?

The challenge is to create a model of your image of what an extra-terrestrial looks like…basically model an alien.

Remember to not include colour for the purposes of this challenge. Feel free to post the models with colour in other forums :smiley:

hey Vincent cool character!
I picked up a mask making magazine in BandN the other day and saw your profile in there. Congrats in the interview. Nice to see your sculpture skills coming across to 3D these days.

deity Nice page of WIPS. I really like the guy in the lower right he looks like he coudl become something really cool if you wanted to develop it more. Reminds me of a design for Poltergeist II

thanks man! I’m slowly learning more and more CG and trying to be well rounded in both forms. I really enjoy CG and am very open minded to it.

Hey nice designs everyone. Like the guy with the bug eyes. how you get a black background? Do I have to make an object and put black material on it?ALIENC~1.jpg

select black in the color palette and either go to documents and change the background to black or
make sure no textures are loaded and go to layer and hit fill.
