The New 'Younger Member Friendly' policy of Pixologic...

I just posted a reply to Sloshs’ great Wizard thread, and noticed that when I used a word normally associated with a threaded cone used to fasten pieces of metal or wood together, it was turned into a row of asterisks…
Now, it occured to me that this could be regarded as censorship, but upon reflection, I decided I was fine with it, in spite of my objection to censorship…Why? Because it will make the Forum friendlier for all.

I thought I would go on record here, rather than see some pointless dispute start, because I do think that anyone, myself included can be articulate enough to find a way to say anything, in a diverse enough variety of expression to crystallize any descriptive concept we wish, and still keep this a friendly place.

My opinion on an apparent new policy…I assume you will all develop your own, and express it if you feel the need, as I did.

Same happened to me a few days ago when I tried to say ***** panel in a thread. What if someone wanted to model a ***** and not a “*****”!

Not sure exactly what those censored words are that you posted but apparently you can say penis. Of course you could just put an underscore or an asterisk between each letter of the word if for some reason you really need to say it…for example if it were a legitimate word and not intended as an expletive.

It starts with “scr” and ends in “ew” and is an everyday hardware item.
Nuts…yep they are OK

Hmm. Interesting.

there is nothing wrong with human anatomy. otherwise we would be getting paranoid. I think that one can abstain from obscene language just for the forum, though.

the fact that scr*w is a lewd expression for “engage in coitus” is an unhappy accident, but nothing more.

in fact, gory, disgusting images of useless violence are much more obscene than f*ck can ever express.

What a load of %@*&
