About 80% of the time I mask something in Zbrush the second I let go of CRTL or the left mouse button the mask I just created gets blurred. Is there a way to stop this from happening? Half the time I have to hit Undo and remask hoping it wont do it.
Preferences > Transpose > set Max Blur Strength to 0 (zero)
also, in your Tool pallete > Masking > set the Blend slider to 0 (zero)
Thanks!!!
no problem =)
hm, to me it seems that the blur setting in the Preference menu only effects the strength of the blur when the button “BlurMask” is pressed.
Also, I’m not sure about the right usage of the blend slider. In my tests it didn’t had any effect on the blur of a mask. The tooltip says it’s for blending masks together but I couldn’t see any difference in newly painted masks when set to different values. Could you provide examples for your usage of '“Blend”?

Boa, you’re right. I was mistaken on this point.
What is probably hindering NightWolf7578’s masks is that he has an alpha selected that has a falloff, or soft/smoot transition. Pick a hard edged alpha when making a mask and your mask will be sharp.
Sorry
far as i can tell it’s as though the mask function becomes ’ sticky '. i have a similar problem with this stickiness which cancels my mask when i go to navigate by clicking in null space. i don’t have any fix sorry. but yeah. certainly a bug / glitch
