I figured out how to make the transparency work, and just had to do something tranparent
Hope you like it.
Hey,Tami, I just figured that out too! Nice use of the technique!!

how do you make the Glass so Clear.

What’s not to like? That is really good Tami.
Very nice, Tami! It’s a cool image, with great modeling in addition to your use of transparency. I love it!
EZ: To make your material that clear, just raise it’s Transparency modifier. The higher you set the value to, the more you’ll be able to see through the object. You can also adjust the Gel Shading modifier to alter the way that light refracts through the object. This causes certain surfaces to be more reflective than others, and can enhance the transparency effect.
EZ, another interesting thing to play around with is the transparency graph, and the reflection graph…
can’t get it to work this is what i did.
sphere>edit mode>material jelly bean>transpernt 100>under material on the left.
it wont get any clearer then what it is.
it has a fog to it and i can’t see right through it and for the other reply whats transparency graph, and the reflection graph is this a adjustment? sorry i don’t see it.
Thanks for the compliments on the picture.
To get the glass transparent, the object should be on a different layer, EZ. Follow the advice above (thanks) to set the transparency. When you render in best render mode, be sure to click the button for flatten layers, so that it’s in the off position.
thank i made a glass head once but STILL for got how.
when im in a new layer am i supose to be in edit mode or use like a alpha brush tool or draw brush to draw the Glass…
im still trying… anyone have a Zscript troutle out there were it would point what to click on step by step i would apperciate it.
btw that was amazing pic you made it caught my eye
what a wonderful painting, Tami! bright and floating and beautifully modelled (though i think some of the moments captured in the above section wont make it through the funnel
- hey, thats a neato way to gain additional z-time!). cool transparent effect!
EZ: i’m not sure what your problem is, so this might well be OT: i dont know how Tami constructed the glass, but i guess it could be done with the sweep-profile-3d-tool. the modelling and transformations of transparent objects can be done the same way as with any other z-objects. you will see the result of transparency only after having done a “best render” with flatten-layers OFF. hope this helps!
