The Horned Demon

Fellow Zbrushers,

For the past 2 years I’ve been meaning to learn Zbrush but until recently haven’t had enough time to to dedicate. I’ve been an artist since childhood and have a deep passion for the arts. I’ve done printmaking, painting, sculpture, drawing, watercolors, you name it; but nothing can touch the instant gratification served up by this wicked program.

I recently had the privilege to do my 1st project with the guidance of the Digital Tutors: Sculpting DVD. This was a great tutorial and the “Horned Demon” I’ve created below was the direct result of having following the general guidelines from the tutorial. I must say, once I got the hang of levels of subdivision and sub tools, I was hooked. I’m looking forward to a lifetime of art using this tool and can’t imagine what will be possible in the future. Okay, here is my sculpt, let me know what you think if you get a chance… thanks.

If anyone has any crits or comments it would be much appreciated. Thanks!

Welcome Greiner, and good start! :+1:

A crit of mine would be the hand/wrist area looks a little crooked / bent inwards awckwardly, but other than that, nice work and interesting creature you have here.

Trust me, you will spend sleepless nights with this great tool  Anyways, I hope to see some great work from you in the future.:sunglasses:

hi greiner

looks pretty cool, i like his body and the spikes on his back
the face looks not evil enough in my opinion, but thats a matter of taste

btw darukins right i suffer a massive lack of sleep since i started zbrushing about 3 months ago;)

Ya, I did that digital tutors tutorial too. It’s good, I havn’t put anthing up yet though.

I thought the Digi Tutors Sculpting lesson was pretty good. It really helped me get a better idea of how to start/end a sculpt.

Thanks for the crits!
