The Great Big Bahoochie of Bong.

This is the start of a character for the weekly challenge at Glen Southerns Subdivision Modeling site The character is baced on a drawing by Douglas Carrell, and i just couldn’t resist giving it a go.
So far i blocked out the rough shape ready for sculpting. Thanks for looking.

Again nice blocking out with the spheres of Z.:+1:

When I read the post caption I wasn’t sure what to expect as bahoochie is Scottish for One’s rear end.

I’m not familiar with the work of Douglas Carrell - have you any good links?

Ah ok I see there’s a link from Glen’s site.http://community.imaginefx.com/fxpose/hethabyrs_portfolio/default.aspx?ppage=1

Hi Boozy, i haven’t heard of Douglas Carroll before i saw this challenge, i just love his work, very impressive.

Nice!!!
But Steve… you know that depicting the ‘The Great Big Bahoochie of Bong’ is frowned upon. Now you are being looked for on fourteen planets in the Bong Quadrant. Disintegration is so unpleasant…

Lemo :stuck_out_tongue:

Lol Lemmo, i’m not afraid of disintegration, just have zbrush me a monster raygun.
Heres a little update of the cradle he’s carrying.

Thanks Boozie. Just started to work on mid level sculpting, plus added a few bits and pieces for later levels.

I checked out the challenge on subdivisionmodeling.com and I’ve gotta tell you, it looks like a tough one. You’ve really got a great start here. Look forward to seeing your end product.

Thanks Slosh, it been a real challenge so far, but fun.

pretty damned good from what I can remember of the drawingg:+1:small_orange_diamond:+1:small_orange_diamond:+1:

that looks really interesting and you make the workflow look like childs play… awesome stuff

I’ll have to look up Douglas Carroll later when I have time… you’ve already sold me on his character design

Here’s the colour version rendered in cinema 4d. Thanks to Douglas for such a fantastic concept. Hope you enjoy.

Very nice character.

Very nice piece…like a collaboration between Dr. Suess and Lewis Carrol.

Wow. Such a fast transition. Very nice end product. I love the texturing and the eyes (and rendering) bring it to life.

Itsacomeoutlovely!!

Well done Sir - the prize must surely be yours :+1:
