Has anyone tried the gnomonworkshop ZBrush training DVD’s? I want to find out if the Introduction to ZBrush DVD covers more than the Digital Tutors training CD(which I already haveand don’t want to waste my money on something I already have).
The ability to order them just went live within the last few hours.
One has to wait for shipping before the ability to watch them kicks in.
The Digital Tutors training CD focuses on Maya users. The face they work with on the CD, is modeled in maya, and imported into ZB. It would have been nice to have them model everything in ZB, since the first CD is a ZB starter CD. It would have been more productive for a new ZB user.
I hope the gnomonworkshop ZBrush training DVD’s ( at least the starter ones ) would model everything within the ZB environment. They can always have different DVD titles for integrating ZB with other software such as Maya and Lightwave, etc.
It’s here!!!
The first one is 100% ZBrush!!!

Super cool!
Theres actually very little Maya stuff on this CD it’s good for any beginner using any 3D package.
I just bought the human anatomy zbrush/maya dvd last night. although some the low res base is created in maya zack petroc himself said that you can start with zspheres as an alternate. That, in combination with the zbrush updates, will basically let you create a low res base with good topology as if you started in maya or any other 3d package anyway.
although I have seen none of them, at this point i would still reccommend all 3. i can only afford one at a time right now, and since meats has 2 out and zack only one. I decided to get zack’s for the first time around.
I ordered all 3. I’ve been waiting for these for a while, and had a little extra cash set aside for them.
Mine should be here by tomorrow. I went with 2 day shipping.

Not Maya specifically, but the FACE that they use to work with was created in Maya. It would have been good to see them “do the face in ZB” from scratch. I think beginners would benefit from this a lot more if everything is done in ZB. At least for the first starter video.
Hi wierdPal,
Let us know how you like the gnomonworkshop ZBrush training DVD’s.

I imagine they will be awesome. Alex Alvarez posts in here have had some great stuff, and I think he said he learned it from the DVD’s.
