The Aurickle

Finally got it mostly done!

For anyone who would like to see, my personal gallery is at www.aurickle.com.

There are still things to be done, but it is most of the way there. And as far as I know, it’s the first site ever to be built on a fusion of Flash and ZBrush. Worked very VERY well!

Let me know what you think, and if anyone has Scripts, Tools or Materials that they would like to see included, I’ll make sure that they get in there. With credits.

Fantastic job, Matthew! Clear and graphically interesting at the same time! I hope everybody contributes to its success, I know your work here at the forum has been a tremendous help to me and many others, and anything I can contribute, You’re welcome to!
:+1: :+1: :+1: :+1: :+1: :+1: :+1: :+1: :+1: (Oh, and :sunglasses: as well!)

it’s a bit incredible, fairly fantastic, and absolutely terrific!!!

ignore the adjectives, and you’ve got my opinion for this.

my book on flash arrived, and I can’t remember a word! your site even works!!!

:+1: :+1: :+1: :+1: well deserved to host an artist of your caliber

  • juandel (going back to look at everything now :D)

Wow… now that’s an artist HP… very spiffy. I’m jealous now ~G~

A really wonderful and unique website
Aurick! (I love the title! :p) The whole thing is very connected, and the gallery is absolutely great. :+1: I love being able to see all your work in one spot.
There is one thing I can suggest you might improve. And that is, even with the preloader it took the gallery quite a while to come up. Perhaps there could be another “loading…” graphic at that point, because if someone did not know of the great works about to be seen…
Again, well done!

Without doubt, without a shadow of a doubt, without the memory of the last whisps of a shadow of a doubt this is the best private Zbrush gallery on the wed to date.

No one, I think, has put this much effort into creating a home for ZBrush images (and other worthy creations to boot) and done so with skillful use of macromedia flash that compliments the ZB textures in the interface.
I would be proud to have any of my ZScripts or tools made available from this site and have every intention of promoting it from my site at the next major overhaul (ie, next week)

Well done Aurick, keep up the good work.

Glen

Now I’m blushing!

Thank you, all, for the kind comments. I’m having a lot of fun with the site, and am glad that people are enjoying it. Glen, your prior advice was most helpful.

In the works:
:b2: I need to fix the preloader issue that is giving some IE users fits (odd that Netscrape of all things should be fine).
:b2: Build the Resources section with contents of my own creation (like butterfly wings and my wing material!) as well as useful stuff that is volunteered by such kind souls as Stonecutter and Southern. This section will never be done, by the way – I intend for it to be a regularly evolving part of the site.
:b2: The addition of preloaders for the mini-movies that house the Galleries and Resources sections. Even though the load time on them is short, it can still leave someone to believe that the site is malfunctioning without some kind of cue to let the visitor know that it’s working. Incidentally, the “trick” that makes this site load as quickly as it does despite its large amount of content is that I have designed it to only load what is necessary at any given time. If someone never goes to the Poser gallery, for example, then it is never loaded. This was done be creating separate movies for each section and loading them into the existing movie when needed – a technique that is well worth learning.
:b2: (My favorite) The creation of additional skins for the site. It has always been my vision for the site to select a different “look” at random each time someone comes to it. Other commitments have kept me from getting to their creation yet, but should be a lot of fun. The layout will remain exactly the same, so as not to confuse returning visitors, but the actual appearance of the site will change. And of course, all of the skins are going to be created with ZBrush!
:b2: As you may have noticed, the Web Ring button doesn’t do anything. Yet.

Thank you, again. And keep watching for the updates.
