texturing and projection master

Help, I have just brought in a model from max wondered basically how to texture it??? I bring drop it into projection master, paint it, then pick it up and it looks like it tiles it across the body… or when i pick it up the program crashes. Any suggestions.

Also i was wonder about adding a bump map??? Do i just use greyscale or am i actually supposed to cut into the model??? I have read many tutorials but none really explain it very well or at least to where i can understand it :).

Then finally while i am at it, i was wonder once i am done texturing it in zbrush what am i supposed to do to put it back in max???

It looks like your model does not have good UV’s assigned. There is a lot of overlap going on.

You should assign new UV mapping in ZBrush or in Max. If you do it in ZBrush, it’s very simple: 1) Create a texture of the size that you want to export. It should be a power of 2 (like 1024x1024 or 2048x2048). 2) Press Tool>Texture>GUVTiles (or one of the other options, but GUVTiles will probably do the best for you). 3) Begin texturing.

You can create bump maps in one of two ways. One is to paint it using Projection Master. In this case, you’ll paint grayscale colors and will probably want to use the BumpViewerMaterial found in the ZMaterials folder. Alternatively, you can sculpt the high resolution details and create a displacement map. That map can then be used as a bump map instead.

When done texturing, flip the texture(s) vertically before exporting from ZBrush. After that, it’s up to you to know how to apply them in Max.

awesome thanks alot. That worked out great, guess it is time to get busy.
