textures and .dds

Hello everybody.
I am currently trying to import textures to my model.
I have a model opened in 3ds max, its all colored and textured via .dds. The view port has working colors.
I would like to import this model with the very same textures to ZBrush. How would I do that ?
Thank you for your time.

GoZ not sure about outcome.

If this article is up to date, then the texture format likely wont be supported by zbrush. Photoshop should easily be able to convert the texture into a friendlier format. If you don’t have access to Photoshop or a similar image editing application then Max should also do the trick (likely through the Render to Texture tool).

alright, converting it wont be a problem
but, is there a way I can see the current UVs of my model in zbrush and allign it up with the textures ?

i got it sorted now, managed to use uv master and existing seams
buuuuut, one thing, my model looks of much darker brown colour than in texture, at first i thought it was related to the material/rgb, but anything i do seems to have no effect

If your model is already unwrapped in 3dsmax, then you shouldn’t have to unwrap it again with UV Master. Doing some will likely cause the (non-border) UV coordinates to no longer align with the original model. GoZ should be the easiest and safest bet when working with Max.

If the texture appears darker in zbrush first check to make sure that no masks are applied. If there are none, then switch the flat color material and fill the model (Color: Fill Object) with the Material paint mode active. Also check that the texture itself doesn’t have a material assigned (Tool: Texture Map: Fill Mat)
