Texture Lines In Maya?

Hello, I am having some trouble with my color texture. I first modeled a base in maya imported it in Zbrush no problems. Second I created a texture for it and than used the GUVTiles option in Zbrush. Third I sculpted my mesh a little and then started texturing. I created a color map for my model then prior to exporting my model out of Zbrush I flipped the the UV’s Vertically. Last I opened Maya and the texture is there and the model is good but I am can see the texture lines on my model were I am assuming it was GUVTiled mapped. The lines did not and do not appear in Zbrush only in Maya? Anyone else have this problem? I would greatly appreciate any help. Thank you in advance and here are some screen shots so you can get the idea of what is going on:

and here is the texture:

Thanks again,

in case you didn’t …

you need to create a blank texture first in the size you are planning to texture at then go to tools>texture and hit the guv button.

Aurick has explain why this happens a million times and I do believe he did again sometime within the last week or so so you might want to scan thru the last weeks messages here in troubleshooting.

Yes, when I was in Zbrush i did create a texture first at 4096 by 4096 and then I hit the GUVTiles option. But thank you for your input do you have any other idea’s why this is happening?

Three possibilities that might help:

  1. Make sure in your rendering engine to turn off any texture antialiasing. This should prevent the area outside the UV’s from being incorporated into the render.

  2. Before exporting your texture from ZBrush and while it’s still wrapped onto the model, go to Tool>Texture and change the setting for the Fix Seams Border to a higher value. Then press Fix Seams and export your texture. This will overpaint a larger area around the UV edges, which should remove the borders.

  3. Also in Tool>Texture try changing the U and V adjustment settings by plus or minus .05 and then press the Apply Adjustments button. You’ll need to experiment with different settings until you find the right combo that works for your rendering engine. Once found, that same combo can be used for every texture you create.

Thank you, thank you, thank you so much! :+1: The fix seams worked perfectly at around level 10, no more lines in Maya. You are the man aurick, thanks again.

Here is a updated pic without the lines:
