Texture layers - When?

Hi,

As far as I’ve read on this forum, there’s little to no hope of having an official answer so I have to ask you to speculate on this.
Do you think/know that poly painting does not allow to implement this feature? If this is not the case, why it is still lacking when all other 3d painting apps have it?
Also, do you think we’ll ever get “traditional” - pixel based texture painting?

its the way zbrush is built, they would have to redo most of it to make it work, other 3d aps uses gpu to render them, and zbrush only uses the cpu. I think everything would just get too slow even with the simpliest meshesh with more than one leyer. I dont see them adding texture leyers until at least zbrush 5, so probably never …

i think the multiple texture thing is a texture for each subtool. like instead of transfering texture to polypaint on each subtool.

of course it is, i even remeber some beta testers saing that.
