Texture from polipaint recovery after remesh

Hi guys!I really hope yìsomeone could help me with this: i imported today an obj from sculptris in zbrush to polypaint;well i made the polypaint and then i created a texture from the polypaint, but when exporting the tool as obj from zbrush inoticed it was too large.
I tryied to qremesh (i have 4r4) the figure and this fixed the large issue but i had to do the uv and when reapplying the texture made before obviousely now is all messed up.
Is there any way to adapt the texture to the model so i don’t have to do all the polypaint again???Please tell me there is XD

Have a nice day

  • When you remesh the model, do it on a clone/duplicate subtool. Then you have both versions. You can then use the Project All feature to transfer polypaint from the old tool to the new one, and then recreate the texture for the new UVs.
  • You can also use a tool like xNormal to transfer polypaint between different meshes / texture layouts
  • Mentioning what version you’re using prompts people to tell you that updates to 4R6 p2 are free

My goodness, yes. Please update. ZRemesher is so much better than Qremesher.

I’m afraid i can0t update (i won’t write why but you could imagine)…anyway, since i’ve just started using (or better trying to use) zbrush would you be so kind at explaining the first two suggestions??

We’d be happy to help you when you get a licensed version of Zbrush, which, for the last decade has provided users with upgrades free of charge. Until then, older versions are unsupported, and there’s not much point in trying to guess at whether the problems are due to outdated software, or user error in an obsolete program version few of us have access to any longer.

I had to do with the blender decimation tool for this time… by the way i’m up to date now
