texture based displacement

Hi all,

I’ve been trying this out, and the painting functionality is great. But I haven’t yet figured out how to use the textures through projection master to cause displacement. I have an arm object, and rather than painting the details in, I’d rather try to project some texture detail from an image of an arm and use that to displace the surface. Does anyone have any info on how to do this?

Thanks

You could create an alpha map and use that as a brush or as a stencil. Alpha maps can also be applied as bump or displacement, the latter being as a render effect or as a physical alteration of the mesh. Watch the various associated zscripts included with ZB on how all these work.

take your texture and make it an alpha with some radial blur(so you don’t get lines).

use projection master with color only and make sure deformation is on.

you’ll have to play with intensity settings to get desired effects.

position and paint and pick up.

you should have your deformation visible on your mesh…works best with higher res meshes.
