Texture Baking: Auto Bake?

Hi, I play a game called Second Life, a 100% Sandbox game that does not render any shadows or supply any option or mod to produce shadows, instead shadowing must be baked right into a texture, so for Zbrush I would use Project Mastery. Ive done quite a few pieces using this method but I am curious, so here is my question.

Is there a mod or an option/upcoming option to position the lighting on the canvas were ever you wish, then simply by clicking a button burn the shading and material onto the set texture and export that out? It seems simple enough since the shadows and material are projected within 3D space, and I assume that even if one side of the object is hidden, it is still 3D and continues to render shadows were i cannot see.

Is there any method of doing this or anything to look forward to for this, it would definitely make my work flow run a lot smoother. Even if this option or tool/method did not exist I think it would be a great option to add to ZBrush.

and this goes for shading all the way around the object with no seams and what not

if you use the basic material, you can interactively change the lighting…doesn’t work with the matcap materials other than on best quality render with shadows.

You should look at tuts on ‘‘baking materials’’ there are many on ZBC.
Just a though but perhaps theres a way to use ‘‘object based tangent maps’’ for your purpose?

As far as I know there isn’t a ‘‘bake shadows’’ button in ZB3 would be awesome if I’m wrong…alternatively there is a cavity option in zmapper.

ya there is no such thing and that is what I want to see added to Zbrush

Well if you want to bake shadows, the best way is to use a traditional 3d software to do that. Zbrush is still not a full fledge 3d renderer :), although it fakes it pretty well.

what other program would you suggest to bake shadows? Or, in Zmapper is there a way to save the Morphed Texture UV map onto my hard drive without having to screenshot and fix it up in Photoshop?

If they do not have the option they should really add it, and add more lighting options to zmapper for quick shadow baking and to create a smoother look to the texture
