Teddy Bear

For a friend at work…

Well Brian, I guess this has to be the ultimate appropriate use for the fiber brush, and you certainly whipped it out here…! If I intended to make a teddy bear, I would have to reconsider in the light of the perfection of this one!

What a cute cuddly bear you got there. The fur is very well done, but it that leathery button nose that I like the most.

Awe he is sooooo adorable…
You have the fur absolutely perfect! How did you get the fur so clean looking and the light yellow so light? If you feel like sharing your secrets that is?
I love him!!

Northstarr…I made a quick script if you’d like to see how I did it. Just set delay to 1000 and show actions. Also, before you run the script, you will need to save the TeddyBear material in your material folder, because the script will ask for it. This is just a basic model and script, in 640x480 in case you have demo. I worked on a much larger canvas and took a lot more time, but this will give you the general idea. To get the highlights and everything, follow up with the shading enhancer brush which I forgot to do in the script…Brian

He is perfect! What a cute teddy bear! Excellent control of the fibre brush. Wow!

Oh my! Thank you so much for the script, I will try it out tomorrow. It’s 5AM here now and I have to get to bed. If I manage to create anything decent I will post it.
Thanks Again.

What a nice present - I’m sure your friend appreciated it very much. Beautiful fibre-brush work, but the nose, eyes and modelling are all excellent, and the soft feel of the background complements it nicely. Excellent. :+1: :+1: :+1:

great Zscript Slosh, but I guess the demo version doesn’t come with a couple textures and other stuff that the script needed to operate. But I do have a great bear head model now.

Zero…what sort of problems did you run into with the script? It should work with the demo. Did you save the TeddyBear material to your material folder before running the script?

Great script Slosh!! Very good modeling and excellent fiber brush technique!! Thank you for sharing it with us!

Maybe I am missing something but where do I find the Teddy Bear Material? Thanks.

Woops! :o
Never mind that last post… I figured out what I missed! Duh!

He’s adorable! Looks just right.

The texture file you posted gets turned into a bunch of junk whenever I try to use it, and it’s not because I’m opening it in the wrong program. I think I just can’t import textures with the demo version.

Oh boy, this is embarassing!
I tried to follow the steps & settings in your zscript. I changed the colours but I think that’s all. I didn’t get the nice fur you got, mine looks like it has been through the washer & dryer!! Can you tell from looking what I might have done wrong?? Or what I need to change.
Thanks

On my monitor the background and the bear in your zscript are almost the same colour so I could only really see what you were doing when you were working on the lighter parts.

Very cute bear Slosh and excellent fiber brush work!

Ironically, I’ve been modelling a bear the last couple of days for my next project, but it’s no where near as cute as this one :+1:

Slosh, my friend I almost missed this one! great work as usual. :warning: :+1: :+1: :+1:
