Teaching Zbrush

Hey Peeps,

I will be running a class in Zbrush using Z4 which last for 10 weeks, 2hrs a week. I used to use Zbrush a long time ago and am now getting back into the swing of things and wanted peoples advice on what do you think I should cover in the time that I have.

The Course is aimed at new users and possible current ones( but doubt ill have any) and it will be at all ages with various backgrounds.

If you guys could give me some advice then that would be ace.

Aside from covering the basics of sculpting and working in ZBrush, you could go over how ZBrush is used in different professional settings, e.g. sculpts used for 3D print, normal baking for games etc. Another important thing to cover would be teaching them how to teach themselves. This will be important for the students that want to take it further that may or may not be able to take more classes. Point them to communities like this one, or online learning resources like ZClassroom, Digital Tutors, or Lynda.

Try to get a feel of the class and what they like. If you bring up architectural examples on the first day and everyone falls asleep, then bringing up examples of character art and everyone perks up, gear a larger section of the 10 weeks towards that. People will put more time into the work if they are having fun.
