Tablets

Hi,
I’m looking into getting a tablet, I have seen different size and models(intuos, bamboo…) of wacom’s, also other brands that are more reasonible.
What are the benifits of using the higher end?
and the Pros and Cons of the cheaper ones? are they comtpatible with Z4?

Thanks,
Tungerz

go with the intuous4 small

its the industry standard with most pros

over 1000 pressure points.

100% compatible with ZB4 in mac or pc

ONLY $199

Thank you, Jean
Will check it out, small medium large? what differences? just size or more features too?
Thanks again

i have the medium intuous4.

when you work in zbrush…it starts to take a toll when you spend more than 4 or more hours sculpting using a really big tablet. having to move from one end to the other.

especially if most of the sculpting is done in the center of the screen. that’s the main reason you don’t need anything bigger than a medium.

The Wacom Intous 4 tablet is nice, but can be extremely expensive. Generally a small one your looking at almost 200.00 and that can be expensive if you don’t know if your going to use it all the time.

You can get a new Intous 3 tablet on ebay for 99.99 or less if you buy used. here are a few links to some. I got mine from here.

New - for $99.99
New - for $111.00 with free shipping
Really Nice Used one - $94.99
Some used ones for people that are not sure they will use it all the time
$89.99 Wacom Intuos 3
$84.99 Wacom Intuos 3
$79.99 Wacom Intuos 3
$74.99 Wacom Intuos 3

I’ve got a Wacom and i’m still trying to find a comfortable workflow with using the tablet to sculpt and then use the keyboard for hotkeys. I wish future tablets would have a little section with 12 buttons or keys for assignability because the 4 they do have isn’t enough.

I have a wascom intuos 4 small .its a cool peace of aquipment.
Before i had a large one i found it too big ,my hand was moving all over the the
thing, now with the small one you can virtualy leave your hand in one spot
and with the pen you can use every tool from the one spot .
cost me 140 euros

Awesome, I’ve been looking at the I-4 small, Think that for a first tablet I cant go wrong with it.
Thanks for the input

I have an A5 intuos 3 tablet and I even remap that one to be able to use a smaller surface to cover the entire screen. I do absolutely love the thing though.

Finally I broke down and purchased a Wacom Intous 4 tablet small (@ BestBuy for 199.00 for those interested.)
Setup great and up -n- running.
Are there any tips -n- tricks or tutorials for settings or use for zbrush?

I must admit seams awkward at first, I guess as time goes by, I’ll get more used to it

Thanks again to all who responded great advice from all

Cheers,
~Tung
