Tablet PC for ZBrush

Could you please make some brief recommendations if you have experience with using ZBrush with tablet PCs, how the screen holds up, can the graphics card handle it, how many levels of sensitivity, etc.

I need to get one for some work coming up, but I will use this particular machine pretty much only for ZBrush. That being the case, should I get a 64 bit machine with 8 GB RAM? Can ZBrush utilize such resources, or am I better off getting just a 32 bit machine with 3-4 GB?

I imagine that Pixologic probably can’t make recommendations for legal reasons, but I am only asking for insight from experienced tablet users. I appreciate your help.

Eric

Well there is now reason to buy 4 gb ram for a 32-bit either.
As 32 bit cant use that much… i think 3,25 gb is what it can use. So go with a 64-bit system either way… if only i tought of that :stuck_out_tongue:
For the tablet part i cant help you, but i’m shure someone can

as said above, get a 64 bit machine and you’ll be good to go

i’m losing a lot of potential in my pc because i have a 64 bit processor but i’m running a 32 bit os, at the time when i built it 64 bit operating systems were a bit out of my price range

as for the screen, you shouldn’t have any real issue, your only problem will be the same as with any other lcd screen which is you’ll find it won’t have extremely deep blacks and things may be a bit bright, in which case that may lead to you over detailing a model in zbrush until you adjust to it

I guess what I need to know is, can ZBrush actually USE 4, or 6, or 8 GB of RAM?

Well i am pretty shure it can, the more ram the more poly’s… if you have a 64-bit os

It can only use 4 gig. But, if you need to have more than 4 gig so that your Operating System can have some (and any other apps you may want to be running). Get a min of 8.

Thank you all very much for the info.
