SysPalette on Mac?

Hi,

I never used the SysPalette button, I always used the default ZBrush color picker. I didn’t even know that there was also the possibility to use the system color palette. Now I wanted to use it, but it doesn’t work. The button doesn’t do anything.

Does this feature only work on Windows?

Yes, I’m afraid that the system palette doesn’t work on Mac OSX. This has been reported to the developers.

As sort of a workaround, you can use this to get values:

You still need to enter the values manually in Zbrush… but I find it handy because I use the System color picker to save swatches, and these are accessible with the ColorPicker app. I also have the Hex picker plugin installed, which lets me copy and paste hex values.

Here’s a little plugin that will give you access to the System Color picker from within ZBrush 4R7 on Mac OSX.

Unzip the attached file to your Desktop, then copy the two files (SysColor.zsc and SysColor.lib) to your ZBrush 4R7/ZStartup/ZPlugs64 folder. If you use the 32bit version then also copy to the ZStartup/ZPlugs folder.

Restart ZBrush and you should find a new “SysColor” button at the bottom of the Color palette. Press this for access to the picker.

Thanks Marcus!

Works perfectly.

For those using this, don’t forget to drag the button from the color palette to your ui:

Wow, that’s great! Thank you Marcus !!

Hi Marcus

mac. Is your workaround script still a thing ? there does not appear to be a download link.

Hi ROM,
It should still work OK. Try this: SySColor.zip
