Symmetry working on one axis but not the other 2. Short Video to explain.

I think there is something wrong here.

I have 8 Radial count and Symmetry works fine in one axis, but I want to carve on each side of one of these designs you see. When I pick the other 2 axis’, does everything look normal?

I want to carve into both the left and right side of each of those designs you see. I think symmetry is not working in the other directions or am I crazy and I have to use Mirror and Weld and just do one side of each design?

Here is a quick video if someone could please tell me that this is normal or is my symmetry going hay-wire like I suspect?

Thanks

That’s working as intended. You’re trying to have 1 axis use mirrored symmetry and having a different axis use radial. You get one or the other.

Personally I would only work a arc (pie slice) of your ring and create the radial array when you’re done sculpting.

Ah, good idea on radial array.

I can say that mirror and weld didn’t work so you must be right. Mirror and Weld made my ring thinner for some reason.
